Memphis was the 1st capital of ancient Egypt. The city was founded by king Menes from the 1st dynasty. It occupied a strategic position at the mouth of the Nile Delta.
The famous god Ptah was highly worshipped in Memphis. From the name of Ptah’s temple there ( hit- ka- Ptah ), the Greek name of Egypt ( Aigyptos ) ( Ai- gy- ptos ) was derived.
In Memphis, the first united government of Egypt was established in 2925 BC, under the authority of king Menes, the 1st king of upper and lower Egypt.
Memphis is the Greek name of the Egyptian name ( min – nfr ), today is called Mit Rahina.
In this tour, you will visit the open-air museum of Memphis, which amongst other artifacts exhibits a colossus of Ramses II.
After breakfast our tour guide will meet you at your hotel in Cairo to take you on a wonderful tour to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC).
The museum's diverse collection of artifacts, including plants, posters, pottery, and jewelry, dates back to prehistoric times up to the modern era. One of the most prominent features of the museum is the Royal Mummies Hall which contains the mummies of a number of pharaohs and queens from the New Kingdom such as Ramesses II and Hatshepsut

You will then go from Cairo to Ismailia a city located on the west bank of the Suez Canal in northeastern Egypt Ismailia with a population of about 360000 people is known for its rich history and cultural attractions as well as being home to the Suez Canal University
While in Ismailia for your visit you'll explore the Suez Canal an impressive sea-level man-made waterway connecting the Mediterranean Sea to the Red Sea This crucial route allows ships to travel between Europe and Asia without sailing around the southern tip of AfricaYou will enjoy a panoramic view of the huge ships passing through the canal, showing impressive engineering.
Your guide will meet you at the reception of your hotel to start your three-hour journey to Alexandria.
Kom El Shoqafa. The catacombs are huge Egyptian tombs and royal cemeteries with Ptolemaic and Roman influences. The catacombs of Kom El-Shoqafa are one the largest Roman burial sites not just in Alexandria but in Egypt. These catacombs started as a private tomb for a wealthy family, then became a public cemetery.
Pompey’s Pillar. Many of the ancient historians did not tell us more details about the “Pompey’s Pillar” but about the buildings that stood nearby and have disappeared now. The hill on which the pillar is erected was covered with temples and houses a long time before the Roman era. It was the place of the Citadel of Rhakotis. A temple was dedicated to Osiris-Serapis was built on the mountain.
Citadel of Qaitbay. The Citadel of Qaitbay in Alexandria is one of the most important fortifications in Egypt. It was constructed by Sultan Al-Ashraf Qaitbay to defend Egypt against the Ottomans/Turks.
Bibliotheca Alexandria: This modern library is a tribute to the ancient Library of Alexandria, one of the greatest libraries in history. You can explore its vast collection of books and exhibits, attend cultural events, and enjoy its stunning architecture and design.
