Our first stop will be the Northernmost Mortuary Temple on the West Bank, Seti I’s Temple of a Million Years. Although building work commenced during Seti I’s reign is was completed by his son, Ramesses II.
There is a range of deities honoured here, but the Theban triad of Amon, Mut and Khonsu are the most important, each having a barque shrine, there is also a shrine dedicated to Seti's father Ramesses I.
Next, in your Luxor day tours we will visit the house of Howard Carter the who discovered the tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun. The house has been restored and you can wander through the rooms and see the furniture, equipment, and household items that Carter used whilst in Egypt. Carters original desk, library and items related to the excavation of the pharaohs tomb are also on display.
