Tour from Luxor to visit Esna, Edfu & Kom Ombo Temples

In this exhilarating tour, you will be able to visit three grand temples standing adjacent to the River Nile. The first one is Esna Temple, first built during the Ptolemaic period between Ptolemy VI Philometor (180-145 BCE) and Ptolemy VIII Euergetes II (145-116 BCE), although parts of it could well date back some years to the earlier period of the 30th Dynasty. The temple was dedicated to Khnum, supposed to have been the creator of the universe and source of the waters of the Nile.
Stop one: Edfu Temple, dedicated to the god Horus, with a falcon-headed deity. It is one of the best-preserved temples of Ancient Egypt. As one passes through this enormous entrance, he/she admire the awesome height of columns and the elaborate carving and complicated hieroglyphics on the walls. Being such an example of the skills in architecture and art, it places the ancient Egyptians well in the annals of Egyptian history.
Further on, you'll arrive at Kom Ombo Temple, dedicated to Horus, the falcon-headed god, and Sobek, the crocodile god. Esna Temple:
Dedicated to the god Khnum, who was closely linked to the annual inundation of the river, which brought fertile silt to the land and ensured the success of agriculture. He was invoked by farmers and those dependent on the Nile's bounty for blessings of fertility and abundance.
Edfu Temple:
The city of Edfu is midway between Luxor and Aswan. It is about 110 K.M from each city. It is famous for the Greek temple of the God Horus.
Edfu was known as (Behdit), “where the god was exalted,” in Ancient Egypt. Its temple is one of the most intact temples in Egypt. It began in 237 BC and finished after 180 years. It was dedicated to the God Horus (Apollo) and his festival “the Beautiful Union”.
You will approach the temple by the Mamisi or the birth house.
In Aswan day tours, there are some amazing scenes as the scenes of the first pylon and the inner rooms, such as the festival scene, the foundation scene, and the famous scene of the battle of Horus and Seth.
Kom Ombo Temple:
Kom Ombo (the hill of gold) is famous for its temple and sugar factory.
