Pointed arch openings are carried on the rear facade, also overlooking the Nile River, to be the southern balconies.
Q: What materials were used to build the house?
A: Using local limestone, mainly mud bricks, the English architect carried out the foundations, walls, domes, stairs, chambers, interior, and corridors. The inner walls and outer walls of the house were cut in layers of "haya," a mixture of mud, chaff, and sand.
