You will visit a monument in Rome known as the Column of Pompey, which is made of bronze and is almost as high. Then, continue to Qaitbay Citadel, a large and intriguing location in Alexandria, Egypt. And then you will visit the Library of Alexandria, which has been an extremely large and important library ever since ancient times. Demetrius Phalerum, who was an Athenian statesman in exile in Alexandria, most likely originally developed the initial idea of the Universal Library, but the library itself was built during the time of Ptolemy II Philadelphus. The Ptolemaic kings' aggressive policies and generous finances allowed the library to quickly amass a massive body of manuscripts.
