Enjoy a wonderful Egypt tour with our 5-day classic tour to Cairo and Alexandria. With our 5-day Egypt tour package, you can travel through Egypt and take in its majestic historical sites. Explore the magnificent Egyptian Museum and the captivating Coptic Cairo after seeing the well-known Giza Pyramids and historic tombs in Cairo. Your classic tour in Egypt will also head to the coastal jewel of Alexandria, where you will discover a group of unique sites such as Kom el Shoqafa and the Citadel of Qaytbay.
Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, our representative will greet and assist you before transferring you to your hotel.
Enjoy your gourmet breakfast in the early morning at your hotel in Cairo. Then, our tour guide will meet you to start your Giza pyramids tour. The Giza Pyramids, which include the Great Pyramid of Khufu, his son Khafre's pyramid, and his grandson Minkaure's pyramid, are among the surviving ancient wonders, along with the Great Sphinx, the guardian of the pyramids.
Then you will visit the Saqqara cemetery to see King Djoser's step pyramid, the oldest stone structure in history. Saqqara, located on the Nile's west bank, is a vast burial ground that served as the cemetery for Memphis, Egypt's first capital.
Have your breakfast meal served at the hotel and get prepared to continue your Egypt classic tour to Cairo attractions. Among all museums across the world, the Egyptian Museum in Cairo takes pride as one of the grandest and most famous institutions. Approximately 120,000 archaeological artifacts are on exhibit for museum visitors, with the remaining quantities being stored. The Egyptian Museum offers a public display of coins and papyrus along with New Kingdom artifacts and Dynasties 29 and 30 artifacts while presenting a collection of objects from the Valley of the Kings, whose centerpiece is the remarkable treasure of King Tutankhamon.
(The mummies' room requires an additional ticket.)
The final destination of your classic trip will be Saladin Citadel, which was under construction during the period when Saladin ruled in Egypt from 1176 to 1183. The builders established the fortification at this vital location to protect Cairo from potential threats. The notable Mohamad Ali Mosque was constructed in the nineteenth century by the leader Mohamed Ali at this site.
You will continue your exploration to Khan El Khalili because it stands as the largest open-air market in the Middle East. The traditional market culture that sustained Cairo as a trading hub exists in this place. Khan El Khalili area offers an array of shops together with workshops as well as coffee houses.
You will return to the hotel after completing the Cairo tour for hotel relaxation.
(Breakfast and lunch are included.)
After breakfast, prepare to meet your expert English-speaking Egyptologist guide to begin the daily tour to Alexandria from Cairo as part of our classic Egypt tours packages. You will be transported to Alexandria in air-conditioned cars. The Egypt trip takes about 2.5 hours, with a rest stop on the way.
Finally, you will reach Alexandria, the pearl of the Mediterranean and the second capital of Egypt, named after its founder, the Macedonian leader Alexander the Great, who ruled Egypt in 332 BC. Start your tour at the famous site known as the Column of Pompey, built in 297 BC to celebrate the victory of Roman Emperor Diocletian (who ruled Rome between 284 and 305 BC and also took control of Egypt) after a revolt in Alexandria.
Next, you'll move on to the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, which were discovered at the beginning of the 20th century and are considered one of the largest Roman burial sites. You will then drive along the coast to reach Qaitbay Citadel, built on the ruins of the ancient lighthouse in Alexandria. It enjoys an excellent location at the end of a narrow strip of land extending into the eastern harbor.
Visit the Library of Alexandria, the oldest center for scientific research in history, which was once the largest in the world. Founded at the start of the third century BC by Ptolemy I, it is situated in the city that bears its name, facing the Mediterranean Sea.
Enjoy your seafood lunch, prepared with fresh ingredients, and then transfer back to your hotel in Cairo.
(Breakfast and lunch are included.)
Enjoy a delicious breakfast during your classic holiday package before checking out. Your tour guide will pick you up, and you will be transferred to Cairo International Airport for your final departure.
