Deir Al-Shayeb, North of Luxor
It is one of the monasteries of Saint Anba Bakhomios, the father of the company, located in the direction of Luxor Airport, 4 km away. It is 10 km away from the city of Luxor in the northeast direction. The monastery is accessible via an asphalt road leading to its gate. The monastery consists of a historic church surrounded by a wall enclosing a garden. The church likely dates back to the 17th and 18th centuries, consisting of six structures in one half and a wide choir in front of the structure, separated from the sanctuary by a wall with small doors. Inside the current walls, there are some decorated stones with crosses and ancient inscriptions
The monastery was founded during the reign of Queen Helena, who discovered the Holy Cross. The baptistery of the monastery is characterized by its old wooden door on the southern side of the church. Next to the structure, there is a room called the room of the deceased fathers, including two bishops of Luxor and one Ethiopian father, Abuna Mikhail, who died while returning from Jerusalem.
The monastery is inhabited by monks and is recognized by the Holy Synod for its monastic life.
Deir Al-Shuhada Tawadros Al-Muharraq
is located west of Luxor, behind the city of Habu in the Western Desert, about 1 km west of it. There is a paved road between them for the passage of all vehicles. The monastery consists of the old church building and some attached quarters, most of which are modern. The old part of the church has three tribal structures.
The church courtyard consists of two round columns dating back to the 15th century. Two structures were added to the current church gate. The baptistery is located next to the church, and inside the church walls, there are some Pharaonic stones taken from the numerous Pharaonic temples on the western bank of Luxor.
In front of the church lies a special tomb meant for the fathers and priests who saw to the monastery's welfare; among them is Saint Father Matteus Al-Basilii, who breathed his last on April 3, 1968—to wit. The tomb also bears the sarcophagus of the archaeologist Bahor Labib Habashi, who had willed himself to be buried there. The monastery serves the surrounding villages and is also inhabited by a few nuns.
The Shrine of the Martyr Wanas
The martyr Wanas was ten years old when he attained martyrdom during the reign of Diocletian. His image is known for wearing a deacon's vestments, and he became famous for finding lost and stolen items.
His shrine is located in the courtyard of the Coptic school in front of Paul Pasha Square in Luxor. The shrine dates back to the early 20th century and is one of the most important Christian shrines in Luxor.

St. George Monastery in Al-Rizeqat, south of Armant, is located 13 km south of Armant and 5 km southwest of the village of Al-Rizeqat. The old church, dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries, is surrounded by modern buildings erected for the monastery visitors, especially on the feast day of the saint on November 16, alongside the monks' quarters.
The church, which was built in place of an older church, consists of six aisles and three sanctuaries, all covered with domes made of mud bricks. The church has entrances on the west, north, and south sides, with the baptistery located in the northwest corner.
To the north of the monastery, about 1 km away, are the ruins of an ancient church called the Monastery of the Virgin. It may have been part of an ancient monastery complex in the area, although it remains undiscovered.
The Holy Synod recognized the monastic life in the monastery, and it became a monastic center, attracting a large number of monks who bought lands for the monastery. It is now under the care of Bishop Bimwa, the general bishopric for the reconstruction of ancient monasteries.
The Monastery of the Two Saints in Toud Armant
is located east of the village amidst the village cemeteries. The complex of church buildings consists of the old church, with four aisles in a single row and two choirs. The newer church comprises 12 domes, three aisles, and nine for the sanctuary, dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. Both churches are constructed of mud bricks, and to the west of the old church lies a square baptismal font. Some attention and reconstruction efforts have been devoted to the monastery, and it is inhabited by some consecrated individuals.
The Church of Saint Dolaaji
The Church of Saint Dolaaji and her Children is one of the marvels of the city of Esna. It is remembered that Saint Dolaaji and her children witnessed persecution during the reign of a tyrant. Despite the threats, she encouraged her children, and when they refused to bow to idols, Arminius became enraged and ordered their beheading, one by one, with the mother watching each execution while singing hymns and praying. Finally, her head was severed. She and her children became martyrs of Esna during the reign of Diocletian, and their pure bodies are still preserved in the church named after them in the city of Esna.
The church was rebuilt, and the bones of Saint Dolaaji and her four children were uncovered, bringing joy to everyone, evident in the smiles on people's faces.
The Martyrs Monastery
Located west of Esna, is situated in the quarries of Esna, about 5 km south of the city. A branching road from the main western road to Edfu leads to it. It is an ancient monastery dating back to the era of Queen Helena, who ordered the burial of the martyrs of Esna there. The monastery was known for its healing properties against diseases
The monastery contains two churches: the modern church, with twelve domes, three aisles, and nine for the sanctuary, adorned with some ancient icons dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. The old church consists of a square central structure, currently divided into a nave and a choir, with two rooms on each side. The church's courtyard consists of two squares, each with a dome, and in the middle of the courtyard, there is a small pulpit for preaching. The church dates back to the 11th and 12th centuries, with two structures on the northern side. An ancient inscription on a marble stone measuring 40x25 can be found there.
The monastery, with an age of approximately 1500 years, is inhabited by some nuns and is considered the place of martyrdom for the people of Esna. It is worth mentioning that the saint and martyr Anba Bazaba is buried in this monastery alongside some priests.
